We drove into the Haight to have breakfast at Katz Bagels. The day before, we bumped into the owner of the place, an interesting guy who Amy had worked for back when she was in high school. They had lost touch, and the probabability of the whole thing was pretty freaking miraculous.
We drove north across the Golden Gate Bridge to visit the Muir Woods, home of those juggernaut redwoods that we all know and love. Despite the tourists, the place was very peaceful and serene. We walked along a high trail that overlooked the lower parts of the forest. I became Solid Snake. I walked cautiously along hardened tree roots, peered into seas of trees for wildlife, and attempted to absorb energy from the whole situation. We also saw some deer on the way out.
We had dinner at a place in Sausalito, then drove back into the city and mellowed out in our hotel for awhile.
As the sun set, we returned to Chinatown in an attempt to get some interesting night pictures. It was chilly, yet the night was alive -- lots of people in bars and restaurants, lots of glossy-eyed tourists like us. When the shops started to close and things started to get sketchier, we headed home.
