It was Labor Day... so we slept in. We skipped breakfast and went directly to lunch at the Fog City Diner.
There was some type of bike race going on around the Embarcadero, so we crossed the streets with caution. We walked up a h-u-g-e flight of stairs and ended up at the Coit Tower. We surveyed the scene up there, then walked downhill to North Beach. Nice area. We walked a few blocks and ended up in Chinatown -- a culture-shock that I'd wager against any other city that I've visited.
We regrouped and walked to Fisherman's Wharf. More tourists than you can imagine. We ate and walked along the Embarcadero back to our hotel. It was a good day: mission accomplished.
