We walked around the streets of Portland each day that we were there. There were a lot of freaks, but it is a very clean place.
We went to see an exhibit of John Lennon's art in a mall downtown. Some of it was good, but I felt that a lot of it was mediocre, and people were just fawning over it because of his musical talent. I'm no art critic, but I'd imagine that type of reaction is pretty typical.
We then veered into Chinatown and checked out the Chinese Garden. While not as nice as the Japanese Garden, I guess it was interesting. Some guy kept tried to sell me a sleeping bag at the Chinatown gate. "C'mon, I'll give it to you for two dollars". I told him that I had no use for this merchandise, and he walked away mumbling something about drug addicts stealing his belongings. Uhh, yeah.
